**Change!!**
I read an article this morning on the free Today newspaper. It talks about the usual "Ugly Singaporean".
The setting was based on Borders - one of Singapore's biggest bookstore. The place wasn't describe as some good reading haven. On the contrary, books were seen lying around. Everything was in a total mess! Not like a reading utopia?? Heh. Then the author moves on to another scene - on the MRT. A man was sitting with his legs out. Two girl, i think, was giggling to themselves- obstructing traffic. More was describe and in several setting by the author but I'll stop here.
I was thinking as I was reading. It is really kinda sad to have such topic so "hot" in your own country, isn't it? And to make matters worse, the citizens know this yet they don't wanna change. Frankly speaking, I do have friends like this too. It really gets on your nerves when you tell them umpteen times to change and even set the path for them- but Guess what!?! They don't change. Then, when you thought they were going to turn into something new and pat your back. Alas! they are back to square the next day.
Isn't this scenerio familiar? Don't you get this everywhere in your life. Tell you something- that's you! (Alrite give you some consolation. That's me too!).
God feels exactly this way!! He set the path straight for you and tells you to change in areas that you should. However, as clever/lazy Human, we always want to take the shortcut or devise a shortcut, if there isn't any. Then a phenomenon occurs. A while later, you're at your couch slugging away, thinking it's too much to change.
Just like the illustration above, when God is about to pat His back (maybe he doesn't) or treat you to an enormous blessing, you turn back to a sluggard and miss out on his blessing in store for you. It's no wonder, God calls us a fool! If you don't wanna be fool, there's news for you. Repent and change in God's way.
I hope this post strike something in you. :)
