Watched a documentary two nights ago on Arts central. It's one of the best filmed documentary that I've ever seen. It's not one that is boring, unlike most documentaries. It really caught my attention. The narration and the picturesque motion scenes were all well-colored and well-collaborated. In case you were wondering, it's titled Planet Earth and screened at 10pm every Wednesday.I catch virtually every episode faithfully as there are many amazing creatures never seen before and spectacular sceneries shown in every episode. Every episode fills me with great insights and knowledge of our world in its original face- without all the cities and developments. It is just raw and wonderful.
The episode 2 nights ago involved the Arctic, Antarctica grounds and its inhabitants. One of them is the Emperor penguin which got me to think largely about trials and temptation. This episode showed me that even animals go through them. The male Emperor penguins has to endure 4 months of hunger, shivering under the cold wind of the Arctic while incubating its unborn young. The entire herd of male Emperor penguin, probably counting tens of thousands hurdle together for warmth. To make matter worse, the climate in the Arctic actually becomes colder at that time and a strange phenomenon occurs. The skies changes its color to greenish blue, something thwe at won't witness in Singapore. This would carry on for 4 months, with winds blowing heavily at the penguin. Even after the 4 months, the trial is not over yet. As the father penguin only kept 1 meal (throughout the 4 months) for its young, it will the die of hunger if it does not feed soon. But the trial finally ends when the female returns with food for its young and husband. A great ending eh..
This really reminded me of God faithfulness during and at the end of every trial, to give me a wonderful ending and ensure that I would make it through the trial. Oh there are also trials for the polar bear but i wouldn't be blogging it. Heh!
